TAMBOPATA RESERVE
“Lake Sandoval Tours”
Pick up from your hotel. Then transfer to the port (Puerto Triumph) 30 minutes by boat down the Madre de Dios River in a motorized boat to reach the entrance of the Tambopata National Reserve, then we will prepare to visit Lake Sandoval throughout the day, where We will make our entrance to “Sandoval Lake” on a walk of approximately 1 hour along a boardwalk where we will appreciate giant trees (shihuahuaco, ficus lupuna) that stand out among the treetops as they are one of the tallest in the jungle, as well. We will see aguaje palm trees around the lake, home to a variety of fauna (shancho, cormorants, snake duck, kingfisher, taricaya, alligators, monkeys, macaw parrots and many other species) then we will arrive at the lake where we will take a paddle. Then at noon we will have lunch in a restaurant on Lake Sandoval, after lunch those who wish can swim in Lake Sandoval safely, then return to the hostel, transfer to Puerto Maldonado, hotel.
