2 Days - 1 Night
ITINERARY
DAY 1 PUERTO MALDONADO / MONKEY ISLAND / LODGE
Pickup from the airport and/or bus station and transfer to the office where you can leave any luggage you won’t need on the tour. Then, transfer to the port (harbor captain). A 15-minute motorboat ride down the Madre de Dios River takes us to our lodge. We settle into our comfortable rooms, accompanied by our tour guide. Then, we walk along the lodge’s trails where our guide will explain the flora and fauna that inhabit this area. After lunch, we travel by boat for 20 minutes to reach Monkey Island, a great opportunity to see five species of monkeys that inhabit this island. We will then look for capybaras and caimans with the help of our flashlights. We will see the caimans’ red eyes, and your guide will explain everything about them. We return to the lodge where we spend the night in our comfortable lodge.
DAY 2 TAMBOPATA RESERVE “LAKE SANDOVAL” / JUNGLE HIKING
After breakfast, we’ll prepare for the day’s visit to Lake Sandoval. From our lodge, we’ll take a 20-minute boat ride to the port on the shores of Lake Sandoval. We’ll then enter the Tambopata Reserve “Lake Sandoval” for an approximately 1-hour hike. We’ll then reach the lake where we’ll paddle a canoe around this beautiful lake, home to many birds and animals. We’ll then have our boxed lunch at Lake Sandoval. After lunch, those who wish can swim safely in Lake Sandoval. We’ll then return to the lodge, prepare to repack, and return to the city of Puerto Maldonado. From there, we can drop you off at the bus station or hotel.
